Ganges jute is one of the leading jute company in India. One of its unit is situated at Bansberia, Hooghly along the river of Ganges. Ward no 10 and 19 are very crucial part for Ganges jute because it comprises of colonies of the folks working in the company with people belonging to different religion, caste, races,cultures, rituals and lifestyles residing in the line quarters.Apart from their business the Ganges Jute Mills Pvt. Ltd. also pay their attention on various aspects such as Health, Sanitation and security of their workers. Objective:With an aim to develop community ownership in Integrated Solid Waste Management the projected was initially commenced in the month of December 2018 at Ward No. 10 with the waste collection starting from the month of December 2019 at Ward No. 19. The objective is to strengthen the decentralized approach in the waste management system and convert bio-waste into organic compost for promoting sustainable agriculture practices and reduction of disease load in semi-urban areas. Goal: Garbage free clean environment with improved services for the people of Ganges Jute Colony. Project Area: ward no. 10 and 19 of Bansberia Municipality, Hooghly.
