UTKARSH BANGLA SCHEME- “The Skill Gateway of India”


Government of West Bengal has launched the “Utkarsh Bangla” a flagship scheme on 16th February under the aegis of the PBSSD (PaschimBanga Society for skill Development) for placement linked short term training across the state of West Bengal. The Utkarsh Bangla Scheme envisage to bridge gap between the demand and supply for skilled workforce in the State. Scheme aimed at providing vocational training to school drop-outs/unemployed youths by providing 100-400 hours of training free of charge as well as provides a stipend of INR 50/day.

BITAN is affiliated under PBSSD; Utkarsh Bangla covers more than 200 job roles under the umbrella of more than 19 sectors.Underthe schemes.Currently two(2) Training Centreshave been established by BITAN in South 24 Parganas under Pujali and Namkhana Municipalities which are offering courses as follows :

  • Self-employed Tailor(AMH/Q1947)(Offered by both the centres)
  • Retail Sales Associate (RAS/Q0104) (offered only by centre located in Pujali Municipality)
  • Beautician Course and Self-employed Tailor Course (Offered by centre located in NamkhanaBlock,South 24 Pargana)
